Slow Mo Destructo
Client: Nerdist Industries
Role: Designer & Animator
Brief
Nerdist was commissioned by Spotify to do a slow motion Japanese game style show featuring various musical and comedic talent smashing sh*t in slow motion and was lucky enough to be given free reign on my approach.
Process
Inspiration drew from Japanese pop artist: Kyary Pamyu Pamyu. Her music video, Pon Pon Pon, helped give way a sort of style guide to work off of. That, and I knew constantly rewatching episodes of Tim & Eric in college would finally pay off one day. Nonsensical for the most part, my main goal was to suddenly thrust the viewers into the bizarreness to help them transition into the odd format of the show.

Outcome
This was one of my earlier projects that included mixing 3D and 2D assets which helped paved the way to getting familiar with including the two in my pipeline.
